Using the newest Risingcam 26000MC with Raspberry Pi
The current version of the camera is being sold with the new firmware which DOES NOT communicate with EKOS older than 2.6.3. As I have my gear controlled remotely by Raspberry Pi it was a real issue, as ready to use systems were useless.
I tried Astroberry which now is running with EKOS 2.6.0 and INDI 2.0.0
Unfortunately attempts to install newer versions of the system was unsuccessful and caused system to crash
StellarMAte (paid system) – the same issue (Kstars 2.6.2)
It is important information for anyone planning to buy this camera and not wanting to change their RPi setting.
At the end I decided to install Ubuntu on the clean SD card – use ARM64 version (or armv8.64) for RPi 4
https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/how-to-install-ubuntu-desktop-on-raspberry-pi-4#1-overview Then after updating and upgrading KSTArs installs easy. https://snapcraft.io/install/kstars/ubuntu
I did above with RPi hooked to the monitor and keyboard
The main problem is the remote access to RPi desktop. VNC service could only be used after login to Ubuntu. Also it locked my RPi on VGA resolution.
At the end the most stable and fastest way was installing NoMachine app on the RPi and the client comp (Mac Book in my case) which allows me to access login page of ubuntu

I guess RisingView software can be installed and used on Ubuntu – it doesn’t work on Astroberry, however I decided not to use it as EKOS seems to be much better all in one solution.
Have fun and enjoy
