(Note that I have not yet recorded Masanori's comet from Dec 27 but
I'm sure it will be #2001)
So there it is -- SOHO's 2000th comet. Wow. It is just such a
remarkable, incredible achievement. When I started doing this comet
project in 2003, I never imagined that it would still be running in
2010, that we (you!) would have more than doubled the number of all
officially recognized comets, and that we would reach 2000 comets! Now
I don't think anything can surprise me about this project... but I'm
sure it will, and I look forward to seeing it!
So, of course, many congratulations to Michal for finding such a
milestone comet. But I extend my congratulations to all of you who
continue to volunteer your time to this project. These events are only
because of your efforts -- and they are truly appreciated.
So thank you! And now start looking for the next 1,000 comets!
