mam nadzieję że to ogłoszenie nie łamie regulaminu forum, zupełnie nie wiedziałem gdzie je wstawić, ten dział chyba najbardziej pasuje.

Ogłoszenie wstawiam za zgodą firmy Sybilla Technologies, z którą współpracujemy przy obserwacjach obiektów na orbicie okołoziemskiej.

Widziałem że szukają obserwatora, o takich ludzi w PL ciężko, a wiem że wielu z was ma ogromne doświadczenie zarówno w obserwacjach jak i sprzęcie.

Sybilla Technologies is looking for a Senior Observer who will join our Operations Team and create, describe and execute observing campaigns, tests for the European Space Traffic Management precursor activities. The person will train other team members in efficient and effective observation planning and execution, will support development of software for data requesters with her/his experience, knowledge about good practices patterns and most important aspects of conducting observations. Senior Observer will be responsible for good allocation of observing time for over 40 optical sensors (with aperture ranging from 20 to 100 cm) distributed globally, number of successful observations delivered and their quality. Sybilla delivers data and services for European Union SST system (EU SST), European Space Agency, Polish Space Agency, commercial customers, and research entities.

 

We look for candidates thriving on observing night sky and delivering information on most interesting events to our customers, searching for efficiency, while maintaining high effectiveness of their work. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in research grade observations or high-quality astrophotography. Previous experience in observations of satellites and space debris topics are nice to have.
 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a person who will provide senior observer’s expertise to the current operations team.

 

Your responsibilities

• Safety and security of robotic observatories.
• Creating and executing observing campaigns.
• Executing special observing campaigns (difficult campaigns not yet automated, requiring close and creative work with equipment and software).
• Staying in contact with customer (data requester) on the expected results of observing campaign, data quality or dynamic events (for example payload separation, manoeuvre).
• Writing reports on system performance, campaign results, data quality.
• Solving daily operations tasks (focusing, diagnostics of hardware and software malfunctions, calibration, requesting and installing new components).
• Creating synthetic reports and recommendations for development, processes improvement.
• Writing and monitoring processes, rules of operations.
• Creating training materials.
• Leading training sessions.
• Participating in the contacts with customers (to solve problems, debug issues, discuss the need for prioritization of issues).
• Help with sensor assembly, configuration.
• Improving the Operations department excellence in service.
• After initial training, participation in on-duty service.

 

The candidate will build up and expand knowledge in areas (her/his and the team):

• Observational astronomy.
• Global network of sensors (supervision, handling, conducting observing campaigns).
• Space Traffic Management principles.
• Supporting Space Safety: Collision Avoidance, Re-Entry, Fragmentation, Survey, Catalogue Maintenance, Payload Separation, Manoeuvres.

 

Qualifications:

• Higher education (bachelor or master – preferred).
• 5 years of observing experience of night sky with optical telescopes (observation planning, execution, data reduction).
• 3 years of experience with optical instruments focusing, collimation, cleaning, setting up, operating.
• Track record on executing on time and with quality.
• Proven track record of planning and organizing larger tasks, dividing them into smaller ones.
• Very good command of the English language in writing and speech (candidate should be able to read and write technical documentation).
• Native/professional command of the Polish language.
• Analytical competences.
• Good knowledge of Office or similar office suite.
• Ability to read, interpret and visualize the data (diagrams, charts, graphs), draw own conclusions.
• Attention to details and spotting patterns.
• Ability to work as a team to overcome operational obstacles.

 

Nice to have:

• Capability to travel to remote observatories.
• B type driving licence.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting (C#, Python, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of databases (basic SQL).
   

Terms of employment:

• Employment will be delivered in a remote/hybrid model (main office in Bydgoszcz).
• This position is subject to an employment contract.
• Observing time for own campaigns on 1 m class telescope and smaller systems (0.2-0.6m).
• [Optional] Participation in installation, calibration and maintenance of optical systems around the world.
• The candidate will have a specialist assigned as mentor during initial weeks of employment.
• The candidate will be offered compensation relative to his/her experience and skills.

Nie naruszasz regulaminu, a jeżeli nawet, to takie ogłoszenie to jednak perełka i ważna informacja. Niewiele jest możliwości zawodowej kariery związanej z kompetencjami wielu osób na tym forum. Powodzenia w rekrutacji

Kurde, fajna sprawa. Ja to nawet połowy tych wymagań nie spełniam 😜 

 

BTW. Taki żarcik z branży IT mi się nasunął:

"Nie ma widełek płacowych, nie aplikuje"

To raczej nie żacik, a sensowna praktyka. Nie ja ustalałem ogłoszenie więc jedynie mogę się domyślać że widełki są bardzo szerokie.

Jak już jesteśmy w IT to mówi się że jeżeli spełniasz około 50% wymagań to aplikuj, bo często to wystarczy z zapasem.

Szkoda, że za stary jestem. Najciekawsze to latanie po świecie i instalowanie / serwisowanie sprzętu.

 

Za moich czasów w IT sprawdzała się zasada "dajcie mu zabawki, jakich nie ma nikt inny, a przyjdzie pracowac za grosze". Tu może być trochę podobnie.

zdecydowanie, to jest to co mnie od wielu lat bardzo mocno trzyma przy profesjonalnej astronomii.

Jako specjaliści od rozwiązań IT, Sybilla Technologies może pracować nad różnymi projektami, w tym projektowaniem i tworzeniem oprogramowania, doradztwem w zakresie optymalizacji procesów biznesowych z wykorzystaniem technologii informatycznych, integracją systemów w celu poprawy wydajności i obsługi klienta oraz innymi rozwiązaniami IT. W tym temacie chciałbym napisać że dzięki tej informacji po 13 latach zmieniłem pracę  

Gdyby ktoś  był zainteresowany to ruszyła rekrutacja na stanowisko observer / data analyst.

Jeśli powyższe narusza regulamin to proszę o usunięcie - celem jest pokazanie że nasze kompetencje używane do tej pory typowo hobbystycznie mogą też być interesujące w kwestii czysto zawodowej.

Od lat odnoszę wrażenie, że co drugi polski astroamator jest związany z branżą IT.
